€10M deal powers Next-Gen Hydrogen Ships & Tanks: TIN and HYTRA join forces

TIN invests €10 million in HYTRA to launch large-scale LH2 carriers, tanks and infrastructure for sustainable hydrogen exports from the Gulf to Europe and Asia.

On May 11, 2025, THE INTELLIGENT NETWORK TIN LTD, based in Doha (Qatar), and HYTRA UG, a German technology company, signed a strategic cooperation and investment agreement to advance the development of novel tankers and new tanks for the transport of liquefied hydrogen (LH2).

As part of the agreement, THE INTELLIGENT NETWORK TIN LTD will invest EURO 10 million in HYTRA to accelerate the technical design and realization of large-scale hydrogen carriers and related port infrastructure. The initial tankers will have a transport capacity of at least 60,000 cubic meters (4,500 metric tons) of liquefied hydrogen – enabling efficient export from the Gulf region to markets in Asia and Europe.

The plan also includes the construction of dedicated LH2 terminals at selected destination ports. HYTRA will be responsible for the engineering and technological development of both the vessels and the required systems. The partners are confident that this collaboration will help position Qatar and its Gulf neighbours as global leaders in the emerging hydrogen economy – marking a significant step toward a sustainable energy future.
