The LH2 Tankship

It is our one and only – the new LH2 tanker.
Tankers are the universal means of transport for liquids and gases on the world’s oceans. Without them, there is no economy, no civilisation, simply nothing.

We are currently developing the first large LH2 tanker with a capacity of 60,000 cubic metres (4,120 tonnes) of liquid hydrogen. This is a very large amount compared to the first ever seagoing tanker for LH2 with only 1,250 cubic metres. But this leap is necessary – very much so. If the transport volume increases, the market price for hydrogen will fall. If this price is low enough, the hydrogen market will take off. Our tanker will make this possible, because shipbuilding costs do not rise in proportion to the transport volume.

Our design is completely new and patent pending. We are therefore not yet able to show it to the public. But we can demonstrate its advantages:

  • Low fuel consumption thanks to a new type of hull shape
  • High cruising speed – fast journeys
  • Green propulsion thanks to carbon-neutral energy sources
  • Lower construction costs due to low use of steel
  • New innovative insulation concept
  • New tank design with high efficiency
  • High level of safety

There is still a lot to see in the future. Please feel free to take a look again
